@eldang @genmon I can recommend it based on the half that I've read so far. I was looking for something that would give a similar perspective but across the entirety of the empire, but it looked like the best place to start.

(I'm still interested if anyone can recommend something wider-ranging.)

@alx @eldang I asked around for recommendations a while back and didnโ€™t get anywhere. What I was after is a start-to-end history of the British Empire so I can have a timeline/overview in my head and start deeper reading on particular themes or periods. But a history that isnโ€™t also subtle propaganda
