A lovely little (mangled) butterfly I found. Translucent wings, red spots on the (dorsal?) under side.
@Fritillaria2 Dorsal is back (think of a shark's dorsal fin) ventral is front. Pedantry aside, your little guy is lovely. Truly beautiful.
@compostablespork PS Maybe in the strict sense of “pedantic”, but it has negative connotations which your correction didn’t.
@Fritillaria2 Wait are we getting pedantic about what pedantic means? 
Also - for me it's like left and right - I mean I basically know which is which but I still get them mixed up. And since I have to do surgeries on frogs at work, I often have to use the words dorsal and ventral but still sometimes I have to stop and figure out if I'm saying the right one. The shark thing makes for a nice memory jog for me.
