- regardless of what the actual historical events of the French Revolution (I dont really know and it's not actually important here), it's a very useful and funny and highly recognisable symbol and joke to express backlash at the conflict and suffering the ruling class (if we're gonna talk in Marxist terms here) creates. It symbolises in very clear terms - 'we don't actually need you and you shouldn't have the position and power that you have'

- Anyone suggesting that this is somehow too far given the level of death and destruction occurring IRL, both on a personal and a widespread generalised level at the hands of these people, needs to get some perspective. The violence is already here and has been here for a very long time. Making memes about guillotines in response to that is ***miniscule***.
