using jetpack compose: they FINALLY made android development not suck! after all these years of development, they have *done it*

think about it: they promise to help you deal with scams, at the same time selling all your contacts to said scammers, effectively creating more demand for themselves

I bet you at least half of these exist because other people in the family who have her in their contacts and installed the first Google Play search result for literally any keyword and blindly OK'd all the permission prompts.

Does anyone here know of an Android spam stopper thingy that won't sell all the contacts on the phone to shady companies?

Not for myself (If I absolutely had to I can just install Pixel Experience & use Google's one), but for a family member who keeps getting calls every single minute.

Fuck up of the day #2: Throwing random fstab options from my previous install because surely there won't be any problems with NixOS's very much nonstandard nature like it crashing into systemd rescue mode in the middle of rebuilding, meaning it also hid the single line of log output that warned me about the above issue

it didn't error out during nixos-reboot btw. Had to figure it out the hard way

there should be a law saying "app developers" (especially essential ones working on banks and such) must consult someone who doesn't know (and want to know) technology every single update

I am this far from saying "fuck it" and installing windows

second may be optional, and the last is only needed if you need vrr on fullscreen windows (regular windows work without it)

if anyone here is running sway with a vrr capable monitor. your vrr is likely not working at all
