"For centuries, Islamic designers and craftsmen have made geometric patterns just by drawing straight lines and circles with a compass and straight edge... Tilemaker lets you build layers of lines and circles, mimicking their actions. As you experiment drawing different intersections of line segments and circles you will discover new patterns, just as they did!"
This (free) app is super fun and it seems it was created to share a bit of Islamic culture/history.

MY 13 YEAR OLD SISTER IS COMING OUT AS QUEER TO ME TO RIGHT NOWWWWWWWWW
i’m so happy to give her an emoji party and make her feel loved but so sad that we are also agreeing she should never tell our parents until she’s out of the house :(
i can’t wait until she is 18. she can live with me.
weird jesus statues
there’s a church/park a few minutes walk from my house. it is full of terrible, huge, 60+ year old white statues portraying scenes from the gospel. they are just kinda scattered around a desert hill, surrounded by joshua and olive trees. they make me laugh. so much. we were showing them to my visiting brother-in-law today and my dog pissed on one of the apostles’ feet, which was extra fun
please, enjoy them with me. here’s the sermon on the fucking mount
cooking at high altitudes
i am only now realizing that my cookies always come out flat because i live at 4,000 feet above sea level and i should be adjusting my recipes...... (somehow?) i grew up at this elevation and never knew that.
spent most of my adult life right at sea level, and that was the period of my life i was and working in kitchens and learning a ton... i’ve spent the past 2 years wondering why some of my food doesn’t come out the same since i’ve moved, omg

Toni Morrison didn't publish her first book until she was 39 and became a cultural cornerstone.
Never believe its too late for you to accomplish what you want in life just because you didn't do it in your 20s. Becoming established that early in your life is usually out of luck or having immense privilege. The rest of us are forced to move a little slower and that's 100% fine.
Art can be a great way to express something complex, like the experience of having a chronic illness, into something accessible that enables anyone to understand.
