Oops, look at that. Another watch party! (We're actually trying to make this a monthly thing now, so look out!)
We'll be streaming Libertarias (1996) written and directed by Vicente Aranda on June 17, Saturday at 8:30PM (UTC+8). This film portrays the experiences of women fighting in the Spanish Revolution and the Spanish Civil War, where they experience gender inequality not only from the fascists but also from their comrades—including a women's organization.
hey philly friends. i stumbled on a macbook air from 2015, but it looks like it needs a bit of love and some electronic elbow grease. i'm having a hard time installing macos on it. i tried linux, and it works but wifi doesn't seem to function. perhaps it's a driver issue or maybe you'd have to get a usb ethernet or a usb wifi.
does anyone have interest in it? perhaps someone willing to hack and tinker with it? i just don't want it to go to waste. it's free of course!
but yeah kinda don't wanna deal with shipping so message me if you're in philly!
influencer voice what's up guys, it's [famous tech reviewer], today we're looking at [some shit that's gonna turn into ewaste in two years]. i'm so excited, it's 8% faster than [last year's version of the same exact shit].
we're gonna be comparing it against [three other versions of the same shit from different manufactures] — not to get ahead of ourselves, but it really packs a punch for its price (conspicuously doesn't mention that the price is what it is because of slavery and worker exploitation)
but before we get into that, a word from our sponsor, [some fucking bullshit vpn company that you're going to let slurp up your data because i told you they're good for your privacy and you have a parasocial relationship with me that turns off your critical thinking skills]
it’s warm out! we had a little backyard party yesterday

We're having an online watch party—and you're invited!
We'll be streaming The Feminist on Cellblock Y (2018) directed by Contessa Gayles on May 27. This documentary follows male inmates as they learn about feminism and unpack toxic masculinity in prison, led by Richie Resada in a program called Success Stories.
"You can't listen to the Thanksgiving Address without feeling wealthy. And, while expressing gratitude seems innocent enough, it is a revolutionary idea. In a consumer society, contentment is a radical proposition. Recognizing abundance rather than scarcity undermines an economy that thrives by creating unmet desires. Gratitude cultivates an ethic of fullness, but the economy needs emptiness. The Thanksgiving Address reminds you that you already have everything you need. Gratitude doesn't send you out shopping to find satisfaction; it comes as a gift rather than a commodity, subverting the foundation of the whole economy. That's good medicine for land and people alike."
